Great place to stay love the hot tub and sauna

Perfection

My husband and I just spend two nights at Lakeside Getaway and the one word that comes to mind is "perfection". This cottage is quaint, well maintained, clean and provides everything you need to relax and enjoy yourself. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Moose Inn just minutes down the road, board games by the fire, more than one relaxing soak in the hot tub overlooking the beautiful lake, a 2 mile walk around the lake and even a trip to the Amish community for a little shopping. The views from the living room and bedroom provide the perfect backdrop for a break from the busy world! Thank you Detjens for making this beautiful property available!

Absolutely wonderful

Thank you for everything, our stay was absolutely wonderful!!!! We will definitely be back if the calendar allows, this stay was exactly what we needed. Board games by the crackling fire, a soak in the relaxing hot tub, cooking and eating ADULT food and no responsiblities! You guys do a fantastic job!!

Gorgeous

Bonnie is very responsive to any question you might have, so don't ever be afraid to contact her about anything you need or concern you have. The house is gorgeous, comfy, fun, and a great space. There is something about this place that was extremely rejuvenating and peaceful. No matter you mood going in, this place will make you joyous during your whole stay. whether you want to go for a hike, swim in the lake, soak in the hot tub, or just plop on the couch by the fire, this place has everything for a fun, relaxing, good time.

Wonderful weekend

We had a wonderful weekend over Christmas at the Lakeside Getaway house. We stayed with our immediate family, and there was plenty of room for the 9 of us. We enjoyed the fireplace, the beautiful sunsets off the deck outside, ice fishing on the lake, walks around the neighborhood, and time spent together celebrating Christmas. The house was very clean, and it contained everything that we needed for our stay.

First off, the photos don't do the place justice. It's so much nicer than the pictures make the place look. Our family spent a much needed getaway at this home and left refreshed and extremely grateful. It had all the amenities we needed and more. I would highly recommend this home for your next stay.

Very comfortable

The property was very clean and spacious. The house is very comfortable with plenty of room for sleeping and moving about. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, and utensils. The hot tub was wonderful and we loved spending time in it. The dry sauna was also amazing. The various watercrafts were a pleasure to use, as well. The view of the lake is nothing short of picturesque. The general location is great, and we had some wonderful hikes in the area. Can’t wait to stay again!

Perfect

his was a perfect weekend getaway for a small family or two. The house has a spacious common area, beautiful deck and view of the lake, and comfortable seating/ sleeping furnishings. The area is very quiet and peaceful, and we enjoyed going for walks around the neighborhood with the kiddos. The hot tub and sauna was wonderful to have on the chilly November Wisconsin nights! We would go here again to unwind and spend time as a family. It was nice for us to unplug from electronics to play board games, play with toys and use the outdoor sandbox with the little ones.

Spectacular

We had a great time at the Lakeside cottage. The view from the porch off of the cottage was spectacular. The hot tub functioned well. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, dishes, silverware and wine glasses. The cottage was very clean.

Perfect

My 2 friends and I traveled with our children for a couple day trip away from the city. The set up was perfect for our families and surprisingly even with so many different schedules, we didn’t have issue with sound or feeling cramped. The deck overlooking the lake is awesome and everyone enjoyed the hot tub. we enjoyed the boats and canoes. The kids loved swimming out to the rafts We would recommend this house to a small or larger family. It was clean and cozy! These memories will never be forgotten!

This place is beautiful!

Cozy and comfortable with easy lake access right off the deck! Great for small children with living space all in one level and sandbox outdoors. We brought our own kayaks to add to the boats provided and were out on the lake multiple times! Love the quietness of this lake— perfect for kayaking and non motorized boats— we felt it was quite private! Hot tub with lake view off deck at sunset was spectacular!

Amazing!

Stay at Bonnie's place! My wife and two daughters (14 and 15) and I had a great long weekend here in May 2020. Lots of room to spread out both inside and out. The view from the house is AMAZING. Great places to hang out both upstairs by the house as well as down by the water. Caught a bunch of panfish and small mouth bass as well (a couple ~7 - 8"). The grill is great, as is the firepit. . . .and the hot tub is an added bonus! Perfect view right from it. They had everything we needed including dry wood and kindling for firepits. Nice roads around the lake for biking and walking. . . .and a close ~10 min drive into Wautoma if you need to grab anything. Thanks Bonnie!

We had such a great time!

We couldn't go out to eat while on vacation because of COVID so brought everything to cook our own meals. Things I brought but didn't need included crock pot, beaters, pizza stone, measuring cups, cookie sheet, muffin tins. They had everything! The house was lovely. We had so much fun on the little boats, the lake was the perfect size. The hot tub was great. Hoping to go back again soon!

Perfect for girls weekend

This house was perfect for our girls weekend. It was immaculately clean and had everything we needed in terms of bedding, towels and kitchen stuff. The hot tub was wonderful during the cold January weekend we visited. The property itself is on a pretty wooded lot and we enjoyed a nice long walk out to the highway and back on afternoon. We would definitely return!

We had an amazing time

We had an amazing time for our winter retreat. Very close to Nordic mountain, the sauna was great. Awesome location, super comfy beds, plenty of places to sleep. Fully stocked kitchen tools. Beautiful view and fantastic fireplace. Incredible weekend.

Best Thanksgiving ever!

We spent time cooking, playing games, sleeping in, and relaxing in the hot tub and sauna. We spent a whole day at Nordic Mountain and returned to the hot tub and fresh blanket of snow. What a blessing to hear our 14 year old say, "best Thanksgiving ever!". The views are amazing; serene and calming! We can't wait to return in the summer to experience the lake. This is a great location to build lasting memories. Thanks so much for sharing your home with us and making our escape possible.

This is a wonderful house!

I rented this house for a girls trip with 7 friends. We enjoyed the hot tub, cozy couches, and spacious kitchen. It had everything we needed to enjoy some time away from the city! Highly recommend.

This cabin was incredible

We spent three nights sitting in the hot tub overlooking the frozen lake. The fireplace was great on cold mornings. If I lived closer, I'd come back every weekend. Really, really wonderful stay. Five stars.

This cabin was amazing!

Beautiful view and super clean! Definitely a great getaway home to rent!

My husband, our dog and my parents stayed here for three nights! We didn't luck out with the best weather. However the home was so nice and cozy we all still enjoyed ourselves very much! We were still able to fish and enjoy the very relaxing hot tub and sauna. We also played lots of fun games, some that we brought and some that were provided. I'd definitely recommend renting this home for a relaxing getaway. Also we had a minor issue with the coffee maker and mentioned it to the cleaning staff that was next door and within a couple hours a brand new coffee maker was dropped off to us:). The owners and staff are all friendly, accommodating and go above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful stay!

Quiet and Relaxing. The view is beautiful.

I starting coming here with my children and parents 25 yrs ago. I recently came back with my three adult children and now my grandchildren. We loved it as much as we did back then. The property is well maintained, clean and beautifully decorated. We went to the EAA, Horseback riding, dinner at SilverCryst and rented paddle boards in town which the kids loved. The rest of the time we just enjoyed the lake. I would differently recommend this property to everyone.

Cozy Lakeside Cottage

Organized a 4-day weekend retreat for my friends and had a simply fantastic time! Plenty of space, luxurious accommodations and the serenity, beauty and privacy of the northern Wisconsin woods greet visitors to this property. Misty and Bonnie were very pleasant to work with and saw to all our needs. The spacious interior never made any of us feel cramped . The cottage's location afford easy access to nearby restaurants and supplies for meal planning in Wautoma. The property came complete with many useful kitchen devices, dishes, plates that made meal prep a breeze. I would definitely recommend this outstanding vacation rental!

Cozy Christmas Getaway

We are a group of 6 ranging in age from 73-12 (plus one small neurotic dog) and decided to 'go away' for the holiday for a change of pace. It was lovely! The roads were terrible on the way up (snowstorm) but even though we were white-knuckling our way through it, the scenery was absolutely gorgeous and Misty and Bonnie gave us permission to check in early to avoid the worst of the weather, which was such a big help. The house was spotlessly clean and decorated for the holiday. We loved the fireplace and had fires every day. The hot tub and sauna were also used every day, so relaxing! We took walks and enjoyed the silence of the woods---hard to believe we were just a couple of hours from the noise of Milwaukee. Beds are comfortable and the kitchen is stocked for every need. There were a few issues (a funny smell coming from the basement) that they took care of right away. They also had a person come out right away when the snow stopped to shovel and snow-blow. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We booked the same house right away for next year. Thanks so much, Misty and Bonnie, for a memorable and relaxing holiday stay!

Thank you so much for letting us stay at your beautiful cabin. The cabin is decorated so cute, like out of a magazine. The amenities are great and many...we tried to use them all. All the different outside areas for relaxing, the property and the lake are all fantastic. Beds are super comfortable, high end pots and pans and kitchen tools was a nice surprise for a rental. On a scale of 1-10, our long weekend at Whispering Pines was a 12! My niece and I were blessed to be able to spend such quality time together! Thank you!

There is nothing better than spending a relaxing long weekend with old friends!

This is the perfect place to reunite with friends and enjoy life. It's so much fun hanging out with friends, roasting marshmallows over the campfire, paddle boating on the lake, and just relaxing playing board games. This cabin retreat was perfect for a relaxing weekend with friends. We had an amazing time at this beautiful place. Can't wait to come back. Great weekend with friends! Always something to do - loved making dinner over the campfire, hanging out in the hot tub and just enjoying the view of the lake - Absolutely beautiful! Even though it rained most of the time it did not stop us from enjoying ourselves. Playing board games and catching up in the hot tub was just what we needed. Keep Coming Back

The family's 5th year here! First time that we didn't have a hot week. That didn't stop us from enjoying the week. Harrison got to spend his first week with us - the two little boys were so good and we all enjoyed having fun with them. Looking forward already to next year when the two little guys will be able to do more activities with the older kids.
